I had not noticed it, but thanks to some comments on the HandBrakeBatch page on MacUpdate, I have found that HandBrake has finally introduced batch support, since version 0.9.8 (might be earlier, I have not checked).

The batch processing probably failed due to some errors connected with spelling of special characters and somehow handbrake does not seem to like multistream audio encoding (on windows 7) as some encoding failed when added a second audio stream with mp4 (amd vce) preset. This pretty much kills the need for HandBrakeBatch, but I am glad that finally HandBrake developers decided to add this feature to the Mac version (it has been available on Windows for a long time if I'm not mistaken).
This said, it is not that intuitive to add several files to the queue at the same time. Here is how to do it: New call of duty release date 2019 xbox one.
- When you open HandBrake and it asks for a source, select the folder containing your movies;
- From the File menu, select Add All Titles To Queue;
- HandBrake will add all the movies in the selected folder to the queue.
Given this new feature in HandBrake, I do not plan to release new versions of HandBrakeBatch. A huge thank you all for the kind support and all your contribution to the charities!
Re-Encode and shrink hundreds of bloaty AVI files or your digital camera clips with just a few clicks to less than half the size with the same quality.There is also another solution with lots more options as I just learned, look here
1. you need an external program
get HandBrake Batch Encoder
2. copy the 2 files in your HandBrake directory
3. start HandBrakego to: Tools - Options - Advanced / Other and check 'Enable Query Editor tab'
drag and drop one of the files you want to encode into HandBrake
in the Query Editor tab click Generate Query
mark and copy the whole string
it looks like this:
-i 'C:1watchCartoon - Bugs Bunny & Wile E Coyote - Operation Rabbit.avi' -t 1 -c 1 -o 'C:Cartoon - Bugs Bunny & Wile E Coyote - Operation Rabbit.mpg.avi' -f mp4 --strict-anamorphic -e x264 -q 25 -a 1 -E faac -6 dpl2 -R Auto -B 128 -D 0.0 -x ref=2:bframes=2:subq=6:mixed-refs=0:weightb=0:8x8dct=0:trellis=0 -v 1
4. now start the HandBrake Encoder.exe in your HandBrake directory
delete what is in the lowest box and paste the above copied parameters
delete the -i and -o part
it should look now something like that:
-t 1 -c 1 -f mp4 --strict-anamorphic -e x264 -q 25 -a 1 -E faac -6 dpl2 -R Auto -B 128 -D 0.0 -x ref=2:bframes=2:subq=6:mixed-refs=0:weightb=0:8x8dct=0:trellis=0 -v 1

If you try to encode mp4 or other newer formats and nothing shows up in the List Of Files To Be Encoded, then just rename the endings to .avi and it works.
If you have lots of files to rename google for renamer freeware.
There is also an updated version available what fixes some shortcomings!
Enjoy your much smaller but same quality looking files.
By the way my favorite setting in HandBrake for all normal encodings and re encodings is constant quality RF:25
I use this from old QVGA VCR files, the HD files from my Sony cameras to BlueRay and are quite happy with the results. If there is something with eye-candy in it, I use the RF:25 in the High profile setting just to be on the safe side.
This was tested with the newest HandBrake nightly builds svn 3626 and with different encoded files with different sizes and frame rates in one folder.
It worked flawless, the only problem was that the MPG file was not added to the AVI files list and had to be encoded normally in HandBrake.
